Unfortunately, the French government disagrees. When Fondation Jérôme Lejeune tried to share a positive infomercial about people with Down Syndrome living fulfilled, enriched, and meaningful lives, a public broadcasting authority deemed the video not to be a “message of general interest.” They decided the video might offend women who had chosen to abort their children with disabilities.
Nobody should be censored simply for speaking out about the joys and challenges of their life with Down Syndrome. We believe that every voice deserves a chance to be heard. That’s why, with your support, we’re representing Fondation Jérôme Lejeune at the European Court of Human Rights.
